How I Came Back to Education
Biography
My name is Rachel Flachbart. I was born in Houston, Texas and moved to Boise, Idaho when I was ten years old. I graduated from Bishop Kelly High School in 2010. After graduating I attended the College of Idaho where I graduated from in 2014. I majored in History and minored in Education, Natural Sciences, and Spanish. I was involved in Gamma Phi Beta while at the College of Idaho. As a member of Gamma Phi Beta I was an officer of the Sorority. I held the positions of Standards Chairwoman, Membership Vice-President, and Public Relations Vice-President. I was also Greek Council Delegate and on the Senior Legacy Committee.
After graduating from college I moved to Washington DC to pursue a career in public service. I worked for the Senate Sergeant at Arms, Congressman Mike Simpson, and Senator Crapo. While working for Senator Crapo I was Senior Staff Assistant from December 2014 to April 2015. Then I moved back to Boise to pursue a career in teaching. I am currently student-teaching history and teaching Spanish as the record of teacher at Sage International School.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my dog, Blair. My hobbies include pure barre, hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing, reading, and baking.
